With it all to play for AFC Uckfield Town U18's needed a Win or a draw to secure their first SCFL Youth East Division Championship, but their opponents and close rivals for the last 3 seasons had other ideas. AFC took an lead with only for Newhaven to equalise and further to a cheap free kit on the edge of the home sides box, the visitors took the lead and looked the most dominant.

Jamie Vale the AFC manager changed the formation that at first only seemed to stem the constant Newhaven attacks. It was not till later in the game with about 25 to go that AFC Uckfield grabbed an equaliser and all of a sudden took heart and and took back control of the game and in the dying minute grabbed the winner to complete a 3-2 victory and the title.

To Newhaven's credit they could have played for the draw and attained second place, but went for the win, but further to their loss dropped to 3rd place which does not really reflect the quality of their team.
