Alsager Town maintained their winning start to the new season as they netted four goals for the third successive game with an emphatic 4-1 victory at Charnock Richard in the Hallmark Security League First Division. It is the first time that the Bullets have won their opening three matches since the 2007/2008 season when they were in the NPL Division One South.
The evergreen Michael Lennon was the star at Mossie Park netting an impressive hat-trick within the opening 55 minutes with Town's fourth coming via a Charnock Richard own goal thirteen minutes from time. The hosts scored an 87th minute consolation goal amongst the late drama which saw four dismissals with both sides reduced to nine men.
Alsager's victory moves them into second place in the league table.
The Bullets are back in action on Tuesday evening - 16th August- when league newcomers FC Oswestry Town are the visitors to Wood Park. Kick off is at 7.45pm.
