Ards Rugby appoint Club Community Rugby Officer.

Ards RFC in partnership with the Ulster Branch have appointed Paddy McGrath as the Ards Rugby Club Community Rugby Officer (CCRO).

Paddy hails from Magherafelt originally, though now lives in the Lower Ards, he played rugby for Rainey Old Boys and is an Ulster Branch referee.

Paddy is currently a coach in the Ulster Under 16 Development Squad and also coaches mini rugby at Ards.

His CCRO role is to work with local schools and other community groups to promote rugby in the local Ards area and to help develop the skills of those already playing the game.

Paddy is also looking for opportunities to bring rugby taster sessions to people who have never had the chance to try rugby.

Ards RFC are the only rugby club in the Ards Borough to have a Mini section and a competitive Youth section and want to attract new players to Ards Rugby through interaction with the CCRO at their school or other organisation.

With the success of Ireland's woman's rugby team and with Ulster having a strong presence on the panel Ards are eager to promote that girls and boys are welcome to join the successful mini rugby teams that train at Hamilton Park on a Sunday afternoon from 2-330pm.

For further details, please contact Paddy on 07805928530 or email ccro.ardsrfc@gmail.com
