Peninsula Cup – sponsored by The Stove Yard

Last Friday saw Ards Rugby host the Peninsula Cup sponsored by Richard Poulter and The Stove Yard.

This tournament is part of the Ards Rugby outreach program into local schools in the Ards area aimed at U14 rugby.

Five local schools were Ards Rugby’s Club Community Rugby Officer (CCRO) Paddy McGrath visits were invited to attend.

Unfortunately on the day St Pat’s, Knock and St Columba’s, Portaferry were unable to join Glastry College, Regent House and Strangford College in a glorious day of rugby.

Regent House ran out winners but the work done by Paddy thus far at Glastry and Strangford was evident to see, with some exciting prospects from both schools being identified by the Ulster Rugby staff present at the tournament.
