Paddy is the current Under 18 Captain and plays hooker or prop, Paddy played mini rugby at Ards prior to going to Bangor Grammar, then returned to play Youth rugby at Ards, Paddy is the son of former Ards stalwart and crooner Paul Bond.

Joel is currently playing centre for the Under 18s but is equally at home playing outhalf. Joel played mini rugby at Hollywood and came to play Youth rugby at Ards as Hollywood have no Youth system. Joel is the son of Hollywood stalwart Ivan DuPledge.

Both young tyros excelled and claimed a superb score each.

As the older members of the Under 18 squad reach 18yrs old they will all be getting a taste of senior rugby in preparation for their maiden Season of Senior Rugby at Ards next season.

With talent such as Paddy and Joel and others in the Under 18 squad still to make their Senior debuts, the potential is there to develop the next squad of 1st XV players.

The benchmark was certainly set today!!
