It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Ards senior teams on Saturday.
The 1sts League match against Clogher was postponed because of Clogher's involvement in a re-arranged Town's Cup match.
Given the amount of postponed games in recent weeks and the Xmas holiday the senior management team organised a 1st XV friendly against Grosvenor at Belmont, this match was then moved to Ards as Grosvenor (who ground share with CIYMS) had to relinquish their pitch as CIYMS had two home matches.
Unfortunately the heavy rainfall through Friday night and Saturday morning made the Hamilton Park pitches unplayable and even the normally reliable Regent House pitch wasn't playable.
Rather than do nothing the selected 1st XV trained indoors at Eddie Irvine Sports.
Ards 2nds travelled to Belmont and played CIYMS 2nds in a Crawford Plate and League double header, despite scoring 5 tries and dominating the match they were defeated 31-27.
Ards 3rds travelled to Antrim and recorded a comfortable 52-12 win in the McCambley Cup, earning themselves a home quarter final v Ballymoney.
