Droitwich overcame Ludlow 29-28 in the semi-final of the North Midlands Shield, and will now face Old Saltleians in the final. Old Salts who missed out on promotion last Saturday in their play-off with Old Laurentians, beat Pershore 27-3 in the other semi-final to set up a final that pitches the runners-up in both the Midlands 2 West divisions against each other,

In the North Midlands Cup, Bromsgrove, who comfortbaly beat Old Halesonians 43-10 in their semi-final, will face Bournville, who had a tighter 31-24 victory over Malvern.

Evesham and Yardey & Distrct (coached by ex-AOE Mick Florey) will be competing for the North Midlands Vase

Elsewhere North Midlands begin their County Championship campaign against Durham, also at Stourbridge on Saturday May 8th. North Mids will again be coached by ex-AOE player Alan Hubbleday.
