Today saw the final of three RFU Touch Rugby events which have been hosted by various clubs across the county. The first was at Chipping Norton, the second at Wallingford and the third in Oxford's South Park.

The aim of the events was to show-case the versatility that can be found in rugby and to encourage people of all ages and ability to participate in our wonderful game.

The results were irrelevant for each game played as objective was to play as many people in each squad as possible. Banbury took two teams to Chipping Norton, two teams to Wallingford and a fantastic three sides with multiple subs to Oxford.

Playing alongside the other fine clubs of Oxfordshire not even the odd spot (!) of rain could dampen our spirits as the teams played five games each. The day also saw the lesser Webb Ellis Cup visit Oxford....

With players from right across the club participating, Banbury are very proud to have come away with the 2015 Participation Cup having taken a total of over 60 players across the events. In fact its the first trophy for our new Clubhouse!

A special mention must go to all the members of the Banbury Belles without whom we would have been unable to take part in the competition. Youth Chair Keith Oakes and his predecessor Chris White also manned an excellent booth all day showcasing everything Banbury Rugby Club has to offer.
