Claudiu started out his career in his native country with the Brasov youth team prior to playing in the second and third tiers of Romanian football with Unirea Tarlungeni, Minerul Lupeni, Juventus Bucuresti and Dinamo II Bucuresti. He was part of Juventus Bucuresti’s Liga 3 Championship winning team of season 2009/10.
In the summer of 2010 he moved to Moldova and played for Nistru Otaci scoring nine goals in 48 National Division games over the course of two seasons. He then joined another Moldova side Crihana Veche for the start of season 2012/13 making a further 13 top division appearances.
In March 2013 he joined Isthmian League side Wealdstone and trialled with Histon and Barnet this pre-season before signing for the Bees. He has also played as a centre-forward earlier in his career.
