Lavs has been with the club for the last two years and has been an influential member of Barwell FC during that time both on the field and behind the scenes.
Richard has represented many of the more highly ranked sides in the local area including Tamworth and Hinckley United where he rose to captain the side. Leaving Hinckley, he joined Nuneaton Borough in 2001 and then onto full time football at Telford United.
In his next spell at Hinckley, he amassed nearly 300 appearances for the club before a short spell at Corby Town. He transferred to Nuneaton Town from where he joined Barwell in 2012.
Despite missing part of last season through injury, Richard came back towards the end of the term to contribute in Barwell’s rise from a relegation battle to finish mid-table.
Lavs leads by example and can always be found in the thick of the action, whether in a defensive midfield position, backing up the centre back or on the edge of the box, assisting the forwards – or scoring himself!
Barwell will certainly benefit from Richard’s leadership and supporters will be looking forward to a fruitful season under his captaincy.
