As Jimmy Ginnelly continues to shape his squad for the 2012/2013 season, he has again delved into the transfer market to bring in two promising new players.

Mark Albrighton brings a wealth of experience to Barwell with over a decade of appearances at League and Conference National level.

Having started his career at Atherstone United in 1998, Mark has travelled throughout the country representing Telford United, Doncaster Rovers, Boston United, Cambridge United where he was voted “Player of the Year” in 2007. He then captained Stevenage Borough before joining Kidderminster Harriers and eventually Nuneaton Town last year where he teamed up with another Barwell signee, Guy Hadland in defence.

He has also had loan spells at Chester City, Darlington and Rushden and Diamonds.

He is looking forward to the challenge of playing against quality opposition in the Evostik League Southern Premier Division as the standard of the clubs looks to be very high this term.

Jack Edwards is a promising young forward who was scoring for fun last year in the Midland Alliance with Coventry Sphinx.

He started his career at Studley FC where he was captained by fellow Barwell player Peter Saunders before joining the Coventry outfit last year. Having scored double figures for Sphinx last season, he was named their “Young Player of the Year” in the 2011/2012 Awards.
Jack will bring dynamic enthusiasm to the front line and hopefully will give manager Ginnelly a headache as he will be spoilt for choice in the front line.

With the new season’s squad now taking shape, Jimmy Ginnelly is looking to mount a serious challenge in the division and must now feel he has the players to fulfil the task.

We therefore welcome Mark and Jack to the squad in the hope that they have an enjoyable and prosperous time with the club.
