your chance to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime event as the Olympic flame makes its way past BRFC up the London Road.
After the flame passes at 5.15 there will be other entertainments on hand,
FEATURING: A photo opportunity with a REAL Olympic Torch (TBC), rugby fun activities for the kids (5.30-6.30pm), and, [b]from around 6.30pm, a
tug-of-war contest (one of the original sports in the first modern Olympics). We want teams to enter from the following sections:
Senior players (have a bit of a laugh before Tuesday training); Womens, players and mums;
Coaches and dads; Mixed minis and juniors.
Prizes on offer for winning adult teams (beer and wine)
Medals up for grabs for the kids
Adult teams composed of six, M&Js’ of eight to be selected on the night. Will be a mixture of ages etc ... to make it fair.
Barbecue food will be on sale on the evening and a raffle, for which we need donations of prizes urgently (either Sarah Radford [07776 255397] or David Ryan [07760 197500] are happy to collect anything which you can contribute by way of a raffle prize).
WARNING: Most schools are shutting early on that day but road closures will be in operation so, please get to the club early !!!
Don’t forget, there are parking spaces further up Lily Hill on the right and at the Martins Heron Tesco store (2 hours)
