Brickfield Rangers FC have captured the signing of Michael Johnston from Caernarfon Town.

The 29-year-old former Tranmere Rovers professional arrives at Clywedog Park after a trophy laden spell with Llandudno FC and Bangor City, which saw him captain the side to a Welsh Cup triumph.

Director of Football Dave Norman, said: “The management team are incredibly excited to bring in a player of Michael's calibre to the club.

“Michael is a born leader and will compliment the many other leaders we already have in our squad.

"He is typical of the standard of the players who are now starting to look and take note of what this club (Brickfield Rangers FC) is all about.”

Johnson arrived at Bangor in 2007 and has been capped at Under 17,19 and 23 level for his country.

He is a three-time Welsh Cup winner and has also lifted the WPL title during his career.

Dave Norman said, "This is an exciting time for the club, the management team have identified the areas we need to strengthen and we are working hard to make sure that these needs are met. Michael has a winning mentality and over the next 3 years will play a huge part in the development of young players and progress of the club."

Michael stated "Having spoken with Dave the decision to join Brickfield Rangers was straight forward. The clubs vision, ethos and infrastructure is beyond the level it is playing at. I am relishing the opportunity to be part of there vision to progress the club to the highest level possible. The management team are building a team with experience, quality and talent, whilst nurturing several players between the age of 17-21. I am looking forward to playing my part."
