THE SEA DOGS CATCH A GOAL IN LAST GASP EFFORT

A trip to Bridlington is not a usual pass through for a Tuesday night, especially when the ice cream parlous are shut and deck chairs are no longer available to rent, but that's what we did, Queensgate bound to face Scarborough Athletic.
From the off it was apparent that both teams were a little under strength, never the less it started well, Brigg making it known that we are here to play good attractive football, which is what we did, passing well, reading the game and keeping a solid line, Steve Cooper and Connor Southern linking well allowing Dan Kingsley Jnr to play off Joe Lightowlers well held up balls.
The second half was by far and away all Brigg, unmatched in pace and skill Scarborough seemed very much a second fiddle, Brigg broke through with more excellent carpet play on the 57th minute when Danny Buttle and Dan Kingsley Jnr linked well with some great one touch stuff allowing Joe Lightowler to follow in Kingsley Jnr's well saved shot, Lightowlers first against his old stable too, and many more like that i hope to see too.
The game continued to be all Black and White right up to the 92nd minute when the seadogs managed to break through and draw Rob Zand away from his far post and slot home, making it 1-1 on the night and straight to the dreaded penalty shoot out.
Ok, here we go, can i look now please, Briggs only scorer was Danny Buttle but that should have no bearing on the game, very good football was played, a great warm up for the FA Trophy on Saturday and one amazing team building episode.
