Club History

After Brimsdown Rovers merged with Enfield 1893 in 2010, there was no representative Non-League football for the Brimsdown area.

In 2013, Lee Okugbeni, with help from Osbourne Powell and Peter Omondi, formed BRIMSDOWN FC to compete in the MOLTEN SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE using the secondary pitch on The Downs as our home pitch, after successfully running an u18s the year before.

We entered in Division Two, appointing Gary Sumsion as manager and played our inaugural game vs Kent Athletic away on the 10th August, 2013, after the fixture was switched at the last minute due to difficulties with The Downs. That game ended in a 2-0 defeat for The Limers, although the League Champions, as they were then, had to wait until late in the 2nd half to get their first goal.

It was the following weekend, when we met New Bradwell St Peter, before we got our first victory, coming out 5-1 winners on The Downs.

It proved to be a difficult season as we fielded what was essentially an u21s side and after early promise saw an horrendous October and November leave us at the bottom of the table.

The team manager did an excellent job of improving things in the new year, but the damage was done and we finished second from bottom.

In the summer of 2014, Enfield 1893 moved away from Goldsdown Road, paving the way for us to take up residence on the main pitch at The Goldsdown Stadium.

After Gary Sumsion was unable to continue due to other committments, Marvin Walker joined the club as 1st team Manager in July 2014. With him came more experienced players including some notable ex-professional players and results improved.

At the end of the 2014/15 season, we finished 4th after being 2nd with 8 games to go. Unfortunately, the run-in was disrupted with 2 unfulfilled fixtures, a club withdrawl, red cards and a shock defeat putting promotion ambitions on a knife edge.

First and Second in the League had no facilities to go up which enabled New Bradwell St Peter and Brimsdown to be considered for promotion.

In May 2015, our promotion to Division One for season 2015/16 was confirmed by The Molten Spartan League and the following July our entry to the FA Vase was confirmed with a bye in the 1st qualifying round and a home tie for the 2nd qualifying round against the winners between Brantham Athletic and Sawbridgeworth Town. Tie to be played on 3rd October, 2015.

On the 16th of September 2015, Brimsdown FC was handed over to Dogan Turk Birligi FC Ltd. Following this, a new committee has be formed. Chairman Irfan Davulcular, Vice Chairmans Udeh Okugbeni & Mehmet Soybir, Secretary/Treasurer Serpil Gul Ermiya, Manager Marvin Walker, Assistant Manager Aaron Archer, Coach Yusuf Salih, Press Officer/ Honorary President Lee Okubeni, Commercial Officer Alp Ermiya.

In October 2015 Lee Okugbeni, Udeh Okugbeni, Yusuf Salih, Marvin Walker and Aaron Archer resigned from Brimsdown FC. Due to this, new members took on the roles to continue running this team. We have welcomed new manager Serkan Poyraz and assistant secretary Gulay Nil Ermiya.

Brimsdown suffered a rocky start with the season 2015/16 leading to a possible regulation. However, Brimsdown shocked everyone by drawing with league champions Edgware FC, all eyes were on Brimsdown at this point. There was still great doubt for Brimsdown’s future, but the players battled game after game with a strong supporting committee and finished the league at 14TH place.

Brimsdown have began their new season and have welcomed Coaches Ertan Huseyin and Georgi Sivkov to the team. Brimsdown look forward to the season ahead. Most Recently, we have welcomed Manager Halil Hassan & Assistant Managers Paul Gissing & Shaun McGregory to the club.
