Camborne to groundshare with Veor

Cherry & Whites help out Cornwall 1 neighbours who'll now play at the Memorial Ground

Camborne have stepped in to help their near neighbours Veor RFC who have been involved in a desperate search for a new ground for the past 18 months
Time was running out for the Cornwall 1 club who had been given notice to move from their Wheal Gerry home ground where they had spent the last 6 decades, so the clubs met and we were happy to help.

Welcome message from Chairman Alan Truscott;
"The Cherry and Whites welcome Veor to the Memorial Ground
After several months of discussions we are delighted to have agreed an arrangement
enabling Veor R.F.C. to play all their home matches at the C.S.M. Memorial Ground.
Additionally we welcome them, and their opponents post match to our Crane Park
clubhouse where they can make full use of, and enjoy, our facilities".

"Camborne Rugby Club is a community club and Veor are part of our Camborne
community. They have played an important, and successful, role in providing rugby
for many players for the past 60 years. It is very important, however, that they keep
their ‘Veor’ identity and this we will encourage and want them to do. It is terrific that
we are able to forge closer links with another club in our community and I am sure it
will be of mutual benefit for both clubs".

Camborne are also hoping to install Training lights at the Memorial Ground in the near future, so this will benefit both clubs. With these great facilities available to them the Cornwall 1 club will be hoping to strengthen their squad and push for promotion.

After such a long time at Wheal Gerry it's obviously a tough time for the club, here's what an official had to say;
"It's been a very emotional week for some of our members and players. For 60 years we have been playing at WHEAL GERRY, this week we have been removing all our equipment from there, and taking it to our new ground.
It's a new season and a new ground, Please keep supporting your local team, and join us this weekend for our first game of the season at our new venue".
