Welcome To Trefrew Park

Founded in 1893, Camelford Football Club is one of the oldest and most established in Cornwall competing in the Cornwall Senior League before joining the South Western League. In 1961 Camelford Football Club was the founder member of the East Cornwall Premier League, initially represented by our 2nd X1 until our 1st X1 withdrew from the South Western League to join the E.C.P.L and the 2nd team joined the Bodmin and District League, now the Duchy League. For many years we played at our old ground at Tregoodwell but following notice by the lessees to vacate, and after much hard work and support from the local community and the Football Foundation, a new site was secured and developed into our current ground “Trefrew Park” where we have played since 2006.
Following this move our 1st X1 established themselves in the South West Peninsular league finishing 4th, 8th and 8th before finally finishing as Champions of Division 1 West gaining promotion to the Premier Division for the 2011/12 season. During this time we also reached the Cornwall Senior Cup final, and the Cornwall Charity Cup Final for the first time in our club’s history and won the Charity Vase.
Since moving to Trefrew Park we have continued to develop our facilities with the construction of new spectator stands and the installation of floodlights, a huge financial commitment for such a small club but a great step forward in our facilities. The recent addition of solar panels at the ground has given us a boost and will provide a regular income stream to help with the costs of running a club of our size.
We are currently in our 4th season in the Premier Division, competing against the best non-league clubs in Devon and Cornwall, which is a great achievement for our young and locally-based team. Last year we had two lads in the County youth team and this year we have 3 in the County squad, which is a great honour and testimony to our policy of giving young players the opportunity to compete at a high standard.
Our 2nd XI continues to represent Camelford in the East Cornwall Premier League, Division 1. This team is very important to the club and several of our promising youngsters have graduated to the first team after a couple of years at this level. We are currently looking to increase our squad so if you would like to play at a decent standard on one of the best pitches in the South West please contact our secretary, Hilary Kent, on 07798 918360.
Currently our Youth Development Programme is able to field teams for the Under-9 and Under-14 age groups, although we are seeking players and volunteers to increase this range. Volunteers will be provided with Level 1 training courses, paid for by the Club, in order to become coaches. It has given us great pleasure to see a number of players from our former under-16 team progress through to our 2nd and 1st X1s.
Camelford Football Club is a Football Association Chartered Standard Club and is operated on an entirely voluntary basis and thanks go to all the team managers, coaches and committee members for the tremendous effort they put in on a day to day basis and in fundraising. Should anyone wish to get involved with the club in any capacity please contact one of the club officials – see below.
Finally, a huge thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for their continued support and for making it all possible.
