Falcons A Team To Take On Cumbria. Cumbria County will play the Newcastle Falcons A Team in a warm up game to their County Championship, Wednesday night at Carlisle RFC, 7pm KO.

The game acts as a warm up for Cumbria ahead of their County Championship Shield Competition and a final outing of the season for the Falcons A Team.

Academy Manager Mark Laycock said "As a club we are fully committed to supporting our three counties as has been outlined by Paul (Varley) and Dean (Richards) in the vision and values over recent months. For us this game signals a step in the right direction and the opportunity for us to be able to come over to Cumbria to play a game and showcase the talent from across the region is great. We had hoped to play one of our U18 games in Cumbria earlier in the season but the bad weather halted us in our tracks."

"We want to have a greater presence in Cumbria and now that our South Cumbria Satellite Centre is up and running we are working with Liam Nicholls, Richard Metcalf, Peter Beasley and a few guys based over there to see where we can support and add to the work that goes on at grassroots and representative level, leading into the Cumbria Excel Camps and the Academy programme."

All rugby fans and supporters are urged to come along for what will be a showcase game between some of the regions best players.
