With the Sun shining we looked forward to another enjoyable day, with the added challenge of getting everyone parked before the Carterton 10k runners passed by Kilkenny Lane!
With Glynn and myself arriving early to get all the pitches set up and with Tom busy in the tea bar (the bacon smelt lovely as its aroma wafted around the ground)we were all set for our first arrivals!
As the teams arrived you could sence the excitement as they warmed up ready to enjoy playing the game they love!
Today we were honoured with all of the top officials of the Witney and District Youth League who we thank for giving us the honour of hosting these events!
The day went well as the players excelled with the quality of their play with many stars of the future on show.
The referees kept the matches flowing smoothly along with the managers who had their teams ready on the sidelines for the next match!
Most of the leagues were very close with only the odd point seperating the teams (which was a credit to Terry Williams who had graded the teams from the previous week)
It was good to see a Carterton Town team come so very close to winning their group and the manager can be very proud of his players.
The time flew bye very quickly and it was soon time for the match officails to present the medals to the winners of the groups!
And bye 2.00pm everyone had gone accept the merry crew who had given up their Sunday to give the opportunity to over 200 children and approximately 300 plus adults the chance to enjoy themselves!
With so many people on site Carterton Football Club would like to thank everyone who made the day worth while and left very little litter!
I would also like to thank Christine and Velia for their hard work in the tea bar and Chef Tom!
