Fixture: Ilkeston Town v Coventry Sphinx
Date: Saturday 15th December, 2018
Venue: New Manor Ground, Answorth Road, Ilkeston, DE7 8JF
Kick-off: 3pm
PREVIEW: A crowd of well in excess of 500 is expected for this fixture on Saturday. Coventry Sphinx will head to Derbyshire to take on the MFL Premier Division league leaders. With the recent departure of Ilkeston manager Martin McIntosh, first team coach Craig Swinscoe is expected to continue in the hot seat. Craig Swinscoe got off to a perfect start in charge of the team when he led them to a 2-1 win at Westfields on Saturday.
COVENTRY SPHINX: Coventry Sphinx had been on a reasonable run of form until last weekend when it was abruptly ended by Lye Town. Prior to that they were unbeaten in their previous four away matches. Sphinx have a solid away record and they have only conceded nine goals in their ten away league matches. Sphinx are currently 6th in the league table ahead of this match.
THE OPPOSITION: Ilkeston have an outstanding home record this season but last time they performed at home they were beaten in the FA Vase. They recovered superbly from that setback to record a 2-1 win at second place Westfields last weekend. They have only suffered one home defeat in the league and that came in August against Lye Town. Jack Till scored a double to take Lye Town to a 3-2 victory. Goals have come quite freely for Ilkeston but they have just one clean sheet in their last ten games.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS: The teams previously met at Sphinx Drive earlier in the season and they shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Nine bookings were issued in that match and Ilkeston had led by two goals before Sphinx made a comeback. Jackson Downie got the first Sphinx goal before Leigh Phillips got the equaliser.

PARKING: Parking is available for supporters at the ground but Ilkeston apply a charge of £2 to park here.
