" MORE FANTASTIC NEWS - CLUB TO RECEIVE GRANT OF £33000"
We are delighted to announce that the club has been successful in a grant application and will receive £33000 to upgrade and improve the heating system.
The money is being provided by Biffa Award, as part of the Landfill Communities Fund. The work is likely to commence in April/May and be completed by the end of May.
Club Chairman Neil Chambers said " This is fantastic news and is another major step forward in the club's progress. When we reformed in 2013 the Directors and Committee set a 5 year plan to develop the club both on and off the field. We are making significant progress in achieving that plan and will continue to improve the facilities at Bentley Leisure Pavilion for the people of Bentey, Darlaston and surrounding area.
When we signed the 25 year lease for Bentley Leisure Pavilion in September 2015 the Committee and Directors also agreed an improvement plan for the club house and dressing rooms. We have already spent more than £20,000 improving the dressing rooms and club house and have further improvement plans in the pipeline. We intend to make the Pavilion one of the best facilities in the Borough for our 30,000 service users.
The heating system at The Pavilion is virtually untouched since the club house was built more than 60 years ago. We had plans over the next few years to improve the heating system but the Biffa Award ,as part of the Landfil Communities Fund will enable us to make significant improvements much earlier than expected. Consequently we will make financial savings on heating costs as the upgrade and improvements will significantly reduce our gas usage"
