During Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month join Restore at Didcot Town FC for a session about being a mindful mate. Learn practical tips about how to talk to mates when worried, have good conversations, what it means to listen well, and how to recognise signs and symptoms of mental ill health.
The session will be delivered by Kate Brooks, who is a Senior Coach at local mental health charity, Restore. The event will be co-hosted by Didcot Town FC manager, Jamie Heapy, and long-time supporter, local FA staff member and founder of Cap ‘N’ Chino coffee resellers, Hans Cook.
Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 years old. Societal expectations can discourage men from seeking help and expressing emotions. By challenging these stereotypes, we can encourage an environment where men feel safe, supported and empowered to prioritise their mental health.
Rest assured, the evening will not be downbeat, this is an opportunity to learn some important facts and take home helpful advice. Enjoy light nibbles and refreshments at the 1 hour ‘Being a Mindful Mate’ session.
