Dronfield were out of the blocks very strongly, putting two early tries on the board, but then Newark worked their way back into it. Dronfield were able to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the second half through penalty kicks and a further try, but had to work hard to hold on and secure the victory, with a final score 28-14.

Two coach-loads of supporters made the trip to Nottingham Rugby Club for the game, and really lifted the team with their vocal support.

The team comprised two age-groups (U17s and U18s) with many of the lads starting out at Dronfield in tag belts over 10 years ago! It was also the first time a colts team from the club has achieved cup final success.
