Felinfoel woke up and came back with 2 converted tries before half time for a Dunvant lead of 19-14, both teams having suffered a yellow card . The second half saw Felinfoel dominating set piece, possession and territory, with Dunvant’s scrum half “JR” also seeing yellow soon after the restart. Felinfoel capitalised with the extra man to bring the scores level at 19-19.
Felinfoel had a couple of penalty opportunities to take the lead which both failed, and then saw one of their players red carded for a second yellow offence, having had one in the first half. With the game approaching normal time a fight broke out and Felinfoel’s Spencer Thomas (16) and Dunvant’s Oscar Savage (8) were both yellow carded. With extra time looming, the referee played about 15 added minutes, and Dunvant’s Sam Crowley was able to go over on the right hand side for Dunvant to lead 24-19. with still about 5 minutes to be played, but they held on for a deserved but rare away victory against Division 2 opposition.
