Former U12's Player - Emily Hird - Kent squad

Stephen Snell6 Nov 2012 - 20:56

Emily Hird, former player for Eastbourne Under 12's makes her debut for Kent U15's.

Emily Hird's first County game for Kent County RFUC under 15's against Surrey RFUC on 28th October 2012.

Emily started on the bench for her first game but within 4 minutes into the game, due to injury she took over the position of hooker. Which of course is the position she had been trained for by first class coaches at Eastbourne RFC for the last 3 years, without hesitation the Kent pack won every scum.

Kent were dominant in ther rucks and mauls winning ball releasing to the back line.

Emily attacked the line with ball in hand within the oppositions 22, many times gaining yardage over the game line to be tackled and setting the ball beautifully (Eastbourne Training) for the Kent's number 8, Georgie, to score a try. Emily at one point was only 1 metre away from the try line when she was brought down by a desperate tackle by Surrey, but again set the ball for a try by one of her team mates. .

Team work between this new side was evident and look promising for the future.
