Eastfield Sports Association Junior Football Club was formed in 1990 by members of the old ESA(now Eastway Sports & Social Club)to provide organised football at little or no direct cost to parents or carers.
On Sunday 1st July 1990 almost 40 youngsters answered a Scarborough Evening News advert for players to form an under 11 team for entry into the Scarborough & District Minor League.
Club President and founder Ralph Horsman became the first secretary of the club, with Rob Goodwill and Mick Hudson as joint managers.
Many players were too young to play Minor League football and Martin Drury volunteered to coach the younger ones in order for the under 11 team to be developed, and retain the interest of the younger lads.
An under 11 team took its place in the Minor League while an under 10 side played a series of friendlies.
The under 11 squad of 20 players suffered many heavy defeats during that first season, but in February 1991 became the Minor League indoor 5 a side winners. This victory proved a turning point for that team and within 2 seasons they were the strongest team in the league continually winning leagues and cups through to under 16's.
More managers and more teams came into the fold and the club regularly featured 2 or 3 age groups, but in early 2005 with interest appearing to subside something had to be done.
In May 2005 a meeting of interested members put forward a plan for Eastfield Sports to develop into an FA Charter Standard Club.
