It was attended by the Mayor of Epsom & Ewell, Sheila Carlson, and other local dignitaries.
Epsom & Ewell Football Club (EEFC) sponsored the Disability Award which was most appropriate because of our Club’s close links with Mencap. The winner of this award was Jamie Matthews who is a member of the England Deaf team which retained the World Squash Team title in October 2010. Our Colts’ section sponsored the Volunteer of the Year Award which was won by Nicky Bowes for her work in developing ladies cricket at Epsom Cricket Club. A further link with EEFC, was the winner of the of the Sports Team of the Year Award (sponsored by the Ashley Centre), which was Epsom & Ewell Colts U18 who were managed by Dominic Woodbridge last season. His team won the treble of the U18 Sunday Surrey Youth Cup, U18 Surrey Primary League (Prem. Division) & U18 Surrey Primary League Cup, which was a magnificent achievement.
Each sponsor was able to speak about their organisation or club. Tony Jeffcoate took this opportunity to promote our relocation back to the Borough which received much acclamation from the audience. Steve Dyke was able to publicise the Club by distributing information of forthcoming fixtures which also was most useful.
All in all it was a most successful evening for all sections of Epsom & Ewell Football Club and the forerunner of many more.
