The Blues were without the injured Dean Jones as well as Danny Walsh, Danny Simpson and James Colliver whilst Ashley Longstaff was on the bench. On the plus side, Andy Catton made his return to action following the ankle injury sustained by the terrible tackle from an Ossett Albion player in pre-season.

After a goalless first half Durham took the lead 4 minutes after half time through Amar Purewal. David Dowson increased their lead with an excellent strike on 84 minutes.
