Striker Danny South has re-signed whilst midfielder Matty Bloor has re-joined the club from Rose’s former club Goole AFC along with defenders Tom Johnston, Luke Jeffs and midfielder Terry Barwick. Also signing is striker Gavin Allott who finished last season at Worksop Parramore in the NCEL and central defender Darren Kelly from Garforth Town whilst former Frickley player Lee Stratford returns to the club for a third time, joining as a player as well as coach.
Bloor will be familiar to most Blues’ supporters after playing for the club under Billy Heath before leaving to join Goole. Jeffs is a 29 year old defender who has played over 150 games for Goole after joining them from Pontefract Collieries whilst Johnston is a 23 year old defender who joined Goole last season from NCEL side Bottesford Town. At 29 years of age, Barwick is an experienced midfielder who has also played for Worksop Town, Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Retford United.
Allott is a 26 year old striker who was a prolific goalscorer for Goole, scoring over 50 goals in two seasons before joining Guiseley at the start of last season. However, he went on loan to Worksop Town before returning to Goole and then finished the season at Worksop Parramore.
Aged 33, Kelly is a former Northern Ireland U21 international defender who was with Garforth Town last season. He has previously played for Derry City, Portadown, Carlisle United, York City and Stalybridge Celtic.
Now 36 years old, Stratford has bags of experience having played for the likes of Goole AFC, Bradford park Avenue, Belper Town, Emley, Stalybridge Celtic and Stocksbridge Park Steels.
