Right full-back Gavin Smith could be out injured for the rest of the season but Peter Rinkcavage has signed Ben Starosta as a replacement

Smith suffered a broken hand during the first half of Tuesday evening's match against Bradford Park Avenue, forcing him to be replaced by Dean Jones at half time. The injury is likely to mean that Smith has played his last game of the season.

However, Rinkcavage moved swiftly to fill the void by signing 24-year-old right full-back Starosta who has returned to England after playing for Dandenong Thunder in Australia. Starosta has recently been on trial at Boston United, Burton Albion and AFC Telford United.

Having started his career at Sheffield United in 2005 Starosta had loan spells at Brentford, Bradford City, Aldershot Town and Lechia Gdansk before being released by Sheffield United in 2009. He joined Dandenong Thunder during the current season and returned to England at the end of 2010. Although of English Nationality, he has Polish grandparents and has represented Poland at Under-20 level, having played in the 2007 U-20 World Cup.
