AND THAT WILL BE THAT....
The Raiders' last game as a National Two club - for the time being anyway - see Old Albanian arrive at Footes Lane this Saturday.
And the good news for what is expected to be another bumper Garenne Stand crowd is that Raiders’ big guns will be out in force for what in many ways is another dress rehearsal for the Santander International Siam Cup.
‘We want to try some things and get some combinations going,’ said Guernsey coach Jordan Reynolds, who welcomes back Tom Ceillam, George Shannon, Owen Thomas, Anthony Armstrong and Luke Sayer.
‘We used the first half against Taunton as a bit of a dress rehearsal for the Siam and it will be the same again this week,’ said the coach who sees his squad is coming along nicely with the big game a fortnight away.
Malcolm Barnes is still a bit sore with his ribs, but should be OK for Jersey.
The same can be said for Blair Campbell, while Dale Martin and Jim Elliott, both away this weekend, are in the Siam picture.
Reynolds is delighted to have Anthony Armstrong back after being out for a while with a torn hamstring.
‘He has been training three or four weeks with us and he will probably play just the 40 this week.’
‘Old Albanian are going to be a good side, one of the best to come here this season and on a good run, so it will be a good test for us before the Siam,’ Reynolds added.
‘They will be the perfect opposition.’
‘We know what we want to be getting right for Jersey and that’s our focus at the moment.’
The game at Footes Lane kicks off at 3pm. Free entry for members and under 16. £9 entry for non-members. The RBSI Guernsey Rugby Academy U14's will play the RBSI Guernsey Rugby Academy U15's tomorrow as a curtain-raiser at 12:30pm.
