Ambers hit Real for 6

6 Goal 2nd half blitz as the Ambers take the spoils in opening pre season game.

After a competative and lively goaless 1st half, Russ Eagles side overwhelmed their spirited opponents Real United to run out 6-0 winners.

Lee Whittington opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 53 minutes with an emphatic finish,after the impressive Danny Ingram forced the visting defence to foul in the area.

Luke Fletcher made it 2-0 on 66 mins with a cool finish from a fine Alan Quinn through ball.

Vill Powell marked his debut with a quality performance and 2 fine finishes (68 &79 mins)......both cooly slotted home after fine flowing passing moves.

Alan Quinn(76) also capped a fine debut with a close range finish as Luke Fletcher repaid the favour with a typical surging run before picking out Quinn who stroked his debut goal home.

The goal of the night belonged to Sam "Fred" Smith
(84)who teased the visiting defenders before firing a fine left foot volley from 20 yards into the top corner.

Ambers gaffer Eagle made a number of changes throughout the 90 minutes, looking at differing shapes and personnel

The Ambers always looked comfortable and some of the movement and one touch passing through the midfield areas was very impressive.

Warren Burrell had a fine debut and showed his class and tenacity, as did the other debutant the classy Scott Maxfield, and the returning Wez Hill.

Eagle commented " The new lads settled in really well, and the existing lads did exactly what I knew I could rely on.......producing quality & tenacity ......it was difficult for us to really get into our rhythm as I was keen make a number of changes throughout the 90 minutes, tonight was all about fitness."
