Daniel has been training with Manchester United for the past 18 months, sometimes up to 4 times a week. He was spotted whilst playing for Hawarden Rangers by United scouts Martin Williams and Bernard Concannon.
Daniel has been with Rangers since 5 years of age, and like others started in our mini kickers programme on a Saturday morning with Dave Dickle and Paul Hughes. One noticeable difference with Daniel was that he always wanted to play in goal and from the early years it has been clear to see his passion and desire to be a goalkeeper.
Daniels under 8s coach at Hawarden, Mark Wynne said "We always knew he would do well and to get a chance at one of the biggest clubs in world does not get much better. All the coaches and I have always been full of praise for him, as he is a great kid, brave and super shot stopper"
Lyn Owen club chairman also said "This is the second player this season to be offered a contract with a professional club from our U8s age group. It shows that at this club we try our best to provide children with the right environment to develop and the chance to experience these exciting opportunities."
Daniel's Parents are over the moon with mum Cathy saying “we are proud of Daniel and want to thank Mark and U8 coaches at Hawarden Rangers who have all helped Daniel achieve this”.
The club would like to wish Daniel all the very best with his future endeavours at Man United.
