A healthy gathering of locals all with an interest in re-forming the club that perished some 21 years ago shared ideas and voted on its new committee to carry the club forward.
This will be led by the man who’s vision started the whole re-birth Johnny Walker who was elected the Chairman for the new era. Johnny has the passion and drive to see the club flourish and his enthusiasm for the football club and the town of Immingham is paramount to any future success.
Garry Nimmo takes up the role of General Secretary and will look after the day to day communications of the club. Steve Pexman has taken on the treasurer role and will support the club by handling the financial affairs. Furthermore Glen Tanton, John Hill and Kenny East have taken general committee roles and will support the club in varying factors to ensure the smooth running operationally.
The room then decided to elect Dave Barton as club President due to his fantastic enthusiasm for the project and his stature in the town. Dave will combine this status with a role engaging the community and bringing the football club closer to its people in more ways than just on the football field.
The committee overall will oversee the media side of the club which has thus far been the driving force in generating interest locally and further afield.
We have already had interest in supporting the club on the media side and through photography in non committee roles which is paramount to success. There will be further voluntary roles as we head towards the new season.
We would like to say a huge thanks to everybody who has shown an interest in the club so far and to those who took the time to attend on Thursday evening. The hard work starts now but the future is bright.
