The Dolly Blues have signed Jake Simpson, son of former Manchester City and Derby County midfielder Paul Simpson, from Conference North outfit Workington AFC.

Simpson, 22, has previously notched up 38 appearances for Shrewsbury Town whilst also enjoying spells at Stockport County and Hyde. The former Blackburn Rovers Academy player will boost City's attacking options ahead of Saturday's home tie against Harrogate Railway Athletic at Giant Axe.
