The club is pleased to announce the signings of four players ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The Leek Town management team have been extremely busy over the last 8 weeks and are delighted to be able to confirm some key additions to the current squad.

Chris Budrys, Aaron Carter, Tom France and Jordan Johnson have all agreed terms and the Club would like to take the opportunity to welcome them for the forthcoming season.

Chris (Pictured, top left) is a no-nonsense, physical, centre forward who joins us after four seasons with Airbus UK in the Welsh League. The 30-year-old is well known and respected in non league circles having had spells with Newcastle Town, Stafford Rangers and Northwichh Victoria after starting his career at Queen of the South.

Aaron Carter (top, right) joins us from local neighbours Newcastle Town for who he signed in 2011. “Azza” is a 25-year-old versatile defender who can also play in midfield and will be a popular player for Leek, after staring at Manchester City he went on to play for Witton Albion and Nantwich Town.

Tom (bottom. left) is another popular local player who we welcome back to the Club from Newcastle Town, his pace and width and will be a very useful addition to the squad. Tom is also son of former Leek Town player, director and Chairman Carl France.

Jordan (bottom, right) rejoins us from neighbours Kidsgrove Athletic and needs little introduction, this will be his third spell with the Club and has scored 53 times for Leek in 122 appearances. An enigmatic forward who was a key feature in Lee Casswell’s promotion play-off teams,
Jordan also played with Chris Budrys at Airbus for several seasons where both featured in the Europa League.

The new additions will compliment a key nucleus of players who are remaining at the Club, these include but are not limited to Tim Grice, Darren Chadwick, James Curley, Niall Maguire and Dan Shelley.

Inevitably with new players coming in there are often current players who decide to move on. The Club can confirm Jon Beaumont, Kyle Diskin, Chris Baker and Niall Green have all decided to join Newcastle Town.

The Club and Directors would like to thank these players for their service and genuinely wish them all the best for the future. In addition to this popular full back Ash Jackson has elected to join Ossett Town, Ash has recently moved home and the distance from Leek has become more and more of an issue, again the Club would like to wish Ash all the very best for the future.

We will make more announcements shortly when terms have been agreed with players.
