The 18-year-old central defender (pictured) came straight into the side to replace injured captain Scott Lycett who faces a number of weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Sass-Davies is a first year professional who is a member of Crewe's Under 23 squad and had a spell on loan at Colwyn Bay last season.

Baker was impressed with his loanee's debut commenting,

"He was one of our better players, he hardly put a foot wrong and was very calm and measured in what he did and one the majority of his headers."
