UniBond Premier League Marine FC announces that manager Kevin Lynch has been awarded with a 2 year contract that will keep him at Marine until 2012

Lynch, 34, took charge of the Mariners in April 2009 and in his first season finished a credible 9th position. The season ended on a high with excellent results against champions Guiseley winning 2-0 away and then in the final game of the season, at the Arriva Stadium, drawing with Boston Utd who eventually achieved promotion via the play-offs. Lynch secured some significant signings for Marine in the last few months of the season that contributed to a two month unbeaten run and he has, in the last few weeks, announced the signing of prolific goal scorer Neil Harvey from Retford Utd to further strengthen the squad.

During last season Lynch also completed his UEFA B coaching qualification in addition to receiving a Masters degree in community sports development.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:
“I am delighted that Kevin has committed to managing Marine for the next two seasons. He has done exceptionally well in his first season as a manager and the award of a contract is well justified. Kevin has made great strides personally with his qualifications and his knowledge and experience in local non-league as a player has proven a great asset in his new role as a manager. I look forward to continue to work with Kevin in the coming seasons and hopefully beyond.”

Marine Manager Kevin Lynch said:
“I am honored to be given a contract by Marine Football Club. It really is a privilege to work with the people at Marine and I believe that right down to the junior teams we are laying the foundations for the future. Last season we worked hard to improve the squad and I believe that we now do have a good basis to build upon. By agreeing to this contract with the Committee and Chairman it will give me more time to continue to work with the Club’s management and players to strive for the success that this great Club deserves.”
