This was a very special night for Market Drayton Town not only were they playing host to league one's Notts County, there was also a little French international turning out for non-league side in this pre season friendly who goes by the name of Pascal Chimbonda.
It wasn't quite the 2006 World Cup final - but at least Pascal Chimbonda got some game time on this occasion.
Seven years ago Chimbonda sat on the sidelines at the Olympiastadion in Berlin as an unused substitute as France were beaten on penalties by Italy.
Now - with under a fortnight to go until the new season and still without a club - the former French international turned out for us in a friendly against a Notts County.
The 34-year-old right-back - whose previous clubs include Tottenham, Sunderland, Wigan Athletic, QPR and Blackburn Rovers - wore the No 5 shirt of Drayton but could not prevent his team losing 3-2.
Chimbonda spent two years at Doncaster Rovers but did not earn an extended contract and is now hunting for a club.
And although Chimbonda has not put pen to paper on a permanent deal, Market Drayton manager, 29-year-old Lee Ebden, was delighted to be able to field the former Premier League star, he is the biggest player to have played for the club, so this is a massive night for us as a club and also as a town.
