Following extensive discussions about the best way forward for Mold Juniors FC and Mold Alexandra FC we are pleased to announce that Mold Juniors FC has agreed to join Mold Alexandra FC with effect from next season (2012/13). As a result of the decision to join ‘The Alex’ all of the Junior teams will change name to become Mold Alexandra, with their age group (plus an identifying name where there is more than 1 team in an age group) as a suffix eg Mold Alexandra U12 Dragons.
However, as the Welsh National League do not allow a club to have a team in both the Premier Division and the 1st Division, the Mold Juniors Senior team, who currently play in the WNL 1st Division, has decided to operate independently and continue under their existing name.
This is an exciting development for both clubs and comes after several months of hard work and detailed discussions to ensure that the interests of both parties are fully considered. We would like to thank everyone at Mold Juniors for the open and positive manner in which they have worked with us to reach this point whilst ensuring that the interests of their members were in the forefront of considerations when planning for the future, and we look forward to working with them going forward.
We would not had gone down the path of bringing the Juniors on board if we didn’t think that it would be right for both clubs, that it was to the benefit of all at the enlarged club and that we could manage the integration correctly. Introducing a junior section to Mold Alex was a key element of our 5 year development plan and persuading Mold Juniors to join us was our preferred option for doing so. We strongly believe that it will help to further develop the junior coaches and players and help develop the club, bringing through future 1st team players, committee members, club officers, supporters and sponsors.
A revised, strengthened management structure for the enlarged club has been agreed with the committee and team managers of Mold Juniors, and presented to Mold Alex club officers at a meeting last week. The revised structure has been unanimously accepted and subject to formal agreement at an EGM in May, the club constitution will be amended to allow the new structure to be implemented and additional policies to be introduced.
We are keen that everyone at the enlarged Mold Alexandra FC get a positive experience from the integration of Mold Juniors and look forward to exciting times over the coming weeks, months and years.
Further information will be made available over the coming weeks.
