Evo Stiks newest non league entity Ossett United have announced Phil Smith as the new first team manager football for next season with Lee Broadbent coming in as number two. The news comes as a bit of a shock as earlier indications were that either Andy Welsh or Lee Ashforth were to be named as the new gaffa.
“Lee Broadbent and myself held the interviews last week and although both candidates were exceptional and worthy of the role, Lee and I sat and deliberated realised that when it came down to it we were just better.” Said Phil Smith.
“I have played at local level for many years and I know loads of people which is the main necessity of a manager at this level, Phil has been overseas and seen the influences out there on an international scale and so together we really make the perfect team.” added Broadbent.
The two will now start preparing for next season and have already lined up some of the back room staff. Dawn Rogers will step in as club Physio and Emma Chidlaw will take up a scouting role focussing on bringing higher level players into the squad from clubs further up the league system.
Of course if you believe this then you are truly a fool! Happy Easter everyone
