Following the decision by Graham Firth not to stand for re-election at the club's AGM, there was another vacancy to be filled.
The members voted unanimously to install James Rogers as the Chairman of Ossett Town AFC. James has been chairman of the Junior section since 2007 over seeing a very successful time for the junior club, including a number summer gala’s that are the envy of many clubs in the surrounding areas.
Lee Broadbent is the club's new vice chairman and Neil Spofforth the club secretary. John Rankin was re-instated as the Treasurer; Justin Fozzard and Steph Joy will continue on the Executive Committee.
They will be joined by Darren White, Nick Smith, Anne Sherriff and Chris Harrison who were all voted onto the committee.
James is keen for the club to develop a clear vision for where we want to get to over the coming months and years, and looked to all members to give whatever time they can to help at the club, as well as trying where possible to increase the membership of the club.
One of the first tasks will be to create a football sub-committee which will include managers from the first, reserve and academy teams to bring everyone together and ensure there is one vision for the football club.
All committee members will be contactable and available to listen and take on board ideas from all members as well as offers of help – James made it clear the committee would not be a closed shop and all members will be welcome to attend committee meetings if they so wish.
