Two more players put pen to paper on Tuesday evening, goalkeeper Brad Dixon (pictured) joins from Leeds United to put pressure on Sam Dobbs and Alex Turfrey is the latest to be given the chance to make the step up from the reserve side.

They will both be in John Reed’s squad that travel to Glossop North End where he will look to give the majority of players 45 minutes in what will be a challenging friendly at the North West Counties Side. Glossop began their preseason campaign on Tuesday evening when they won 4-0 at Irlam. They take on Widnes Vikings on Thursday evening before hosting Town on Saturday.

Assistant manager Clive Freeman has added a couple of friendlies to the summer fixture list, the Reds will travel to Carlton Athletic on Thursday 24 July, for a 6.30pm kick-off, Ossett Town will also travel to Hunslet Boys Club, the date for that game is still TBC.

Our league fixtures for the season ahead will be announced tomorrow morning at 9am, this will be the first place to see where the season will start.
