The club are delighted to confirm that we have this week finally signed midfielder, Lewis Jones from Ashton Town.
Lewis, a good friend of striker Louis Austin is a player that manager Phil Stafford has had his eye on for a while and was a stand-out in a recent friendly against Runcorn Linnets alongside other prospects reserve players Mike Keegan and Jack Edwards.
Highly rated at a young age, Lewis played for Blackburn Rovers Youth side laying against some high profile opponents. His career took a different direction when he went off to play in the US for a year but he returned after his stint there to play locally for Ashton Town. With opportunities limited there towards the end of the year Phil, who had him on the radar, got the ball rolling.
Lewis's paperwork finally came through yesterday but sadly too late for him to feature in the 2-0 win over Irlam but he is now available for selection and may well feature in the clubs Reusch First Division Cup Quarter final this week.
