Retford Town Football Club were formed for the beginning of the 2001/02 season to play in the Lincolnshire Football League. The first two seasons proved difficult for Town finishing 14th out of 14 in their first season and 13th out of 13 in their second season.

The 2003/04 season saw Town switch to the Notts Amateur Alliance for two season, the highlight being a 3rd place finish in the 2004/05 season.

Both the original 1st and Reserves teams have seen league and cup success since the clubs formation. Our highlights are and honours are listed below:
