Buoyed by the victory away at the newly crowned Champions, Sandbach will be looking to finish the League season off in with another difficult win on the road, as they travel to Birmingham University to play Bournville. The chocolate men promoted back into the league at the start of the season, have retained their Midlands Premier status, which is an achievement in itself and has proved difficult for several teams over the years. In the home game Sandbach were comfortably beaten 17 v 43 in the opening game of the season, so they will be certainly looking to avenge that defeat and show that under the coaching of Messrs Webber, McGuigan and Bird, they have improved considerably since then.
Bournville though have some dangerous players with former Bees fly half and Mitch McGahan and the four times Cambridge Blue centre Henry Hughes particularly catching the eye last time out. So Sandbach will need to be fully motivated as they do have something of a record of coming unstuck, when playing teams at the lower end of the table. Further Bournville now play on an artificial grass pitch and though some purists are not keen on carpet rugby, it does generally make for a fast and open game. So, travelling supporters should expect another exciting, entertaining game.
