Incessant rain caused Saturday's game to be called off. It will be another few weeks before Preston will be hopping over the South Leicester grass.
It didn't stop the majority of the South faithful from going ahead with the Presidents lunch with a good attendance who enjoyed the food and drink but most of all the conversation.
Thanks to Bob Colyer, Wayne Marsden and John Sanders who oversaw the lunch and of course joined in.

There were different generations of former players and wives attending and it was a reminder that the club was built on these old players who committed themselves to South Leicester whether they played in the first team or the other teams depending on the opinion of the selection committee.

This reminded me of the moans and groans in the those days when the opinion of the committee didn't agree with the players opinion of their ability but no matter in most cases they got on with it and played wherever.

This must have been character building because a lot of those former players still turn up to watch the current team and still remained attached to the club.

So come all ye faithful be joyful and hopefully triumphant and come to the next home game on the 5th March against Tyndale and to the last Presidents lunch of the season on the final day of the season when South play Huddersfield in what could be a vital match
