Lycett next to leave Royals

Another one of last seasons heroes Scott Lycett has decided to leave the Royals following discussions with manager Neil Tooth.

The Northwich based player returned for his 3rd spell with the club in November and was a huge part of last seasons success.

Toothy had this to say, "Scott has travelled in week after week on his own and its taken its toll on him so it looks like he is going to sign for Witton Albion a team on his doorstep. He wanted to stay and I wanted to keep him but I just couldn't come up with an offer to make it worth his while. Scott is not about the money and never has been but there comes a time when your travelling just gets to much and I know from experience it takes its toll on you not to mention the damage it does to your car so he leaves with the highest praise I can give and Witton are getting a very good player."

With Danny O'Callaghan leaving yesterday we asked Tooth if it leaves him a little light on numbers ? "Obviously id have loved both to stay and its a blow but we have brought in Duane Courtney and Aaron Forde and I have some very good lads coming in for pre season with a view to signing. Add to that we have Luke Chapman and Joe Lyng both returning from long term injury and we also have a few very big things bubbling under so in terms of numbers and quality we will be fine"

From all at Sutton Scott Good Luck !
