Royals progress to next round of The Doodson League Cup, at the expense of Loughborough Dynamo.

Neil Tooth`s men made it three wins from three against Loughbrough this season, albeit after a strong first half performance, the second wasn`t as clear cut.

Mark Danks made a goalscoring debut and what a debut it was, as he scored all four of The Royals goals.

A Full Match Report will follow, however The Royals Website caught up with Assistant Manager, Ross Thorpe this evening, who give us his verdict on proceedings:

"To beat a side like Loughborugh, 4-2 sounds like a convincing victory and for 45 minutes, I felt we dominated proceedings but 2 minutes of madness inside the second half, has made it very uncomfortable but showed you cannot get complacent at this level, as you will be punished and we was."

"Take the positives from the game, we made a few changes and played a few out of position but the lads, especially first half, did well. Mark Danks has come in and scored 4 great goals, yet more importantly, got 75 minutes under his belt, as well as the likes of Scotty Lycett getting another 90 minutes, so its pleasing now that the lads are getting minutes in the locker and giving us the opportunity, to give some a night off, which again has been fully deserved, especially after the schedule we have had to put up with since September."

We move on now to a massive game on Saturday, at Home to Carlton Town, who will definately be a side who will punish mistakes and ask questions of us, so we really need to be on the ball, too keep close to where we are at in the league."
