We have both the Men's and Women's 1st XV's playing at Home this weekend - Please come down and show your support.

Now that the icy conditions have eased we can get back into league rugby action as Trafford MV 1st XV look to improve on their league leaders position as they welcome Hoylake to MacPherson Park this Saturday for a 2.15pm kick off.

Trafford MV 1sts are sitting 6 points ahead of 2nd placed Southport but have not yet found that good vein of form that made them serious title contenders last season. Another step up has to be taken in order to consolidate their lead. Hoylake are currently 7th but have won 5 of their league games to date so they will be no pushover. Trafford need to concentrate on getting their basic game plan right and the bonus points will come - if the basic game is scrappy they will have a fight on their hands.

The 2nd XV travel away to face Rochdale 3rd XV for a 2.15pm ko. The 2nds are sitting 4th in the league at the moment, with 6 wins under their belts, while their opponents are placed 9th with only 3 wins to their credit. With a good performance there is a good chance of points being picked up here.

There is no game for the 3rd XV this weekend.

On Sunday the Womens 1st XV who are the current league leaders welcome 3rd placed Preston Grasshoppers in round 6 of the WOMEN'S NC 2 NORTH (WEST) the teams separated only by points scored differential - both teams are tied on league points with Winnington Park and Leigh Ladies. A good old contest should therefore be on the cards - spectators are encouraged to come along and support the womens game which kicks off at 2.00pm at M33 6LR.

Also on Sunday 10th there is a Junior Colts game kicking off at 12.30pm with New Brighton being the visitors to MacPherson Park. The youngsters will be looking to add to the 3 wins they have collected already this season and are keen to show what they can do in front of their home supporters.

Trafford MV are keen to hear from players who would like to join us and represent Trafford MV on the rugby pitch. All teams welcome new players and being one of the few clubs currently fielding 3 sides plus women's rugby there are places in all teams.

Drop us a message wilfdooley@virginmedia.com and we will further your enquiry with the relevant team/age group.
